i am amazed at barack obama’s web team. i really am. they know how to do their thug thizzle.
barack obama’s campaign website was by far the best candidate website i have ever seen. and now, they have moved on to www.change.gov – the official website of the “office of president-elect barack obama”. how brash.
for one, there isn’t such a thing as an office of the president-elect. two, aren’t there regulations about who can register a .gov domain?
as i write this, i visited michelle malkin’s site and saw she has a post up about this very topic: change.gov smells like a fund-raising front
looking at the site, it’s pretty obvious they plan to move barackobama.com over to this site.
ps. take a look at his mandatory volunteerism.
So If were advising the GOP I would break down the challenge like this. A robust effort would have many subcategories and tangents, but heregoes:
Objective
Target audience(s) (personas)
Challenge in brief
What we are
What we are not
Our value proposition
How we will build engaging relationships
Potential derailers
Marketing statement
Brand promise or tagline(s)
From there we would have a bedrock upon which to rebuild the party on. Sounds easy right? Chuh…
BTW, I don’t have a problem with change.gov. He’s our next prez and I’m glad he’s carrying the campaign message into this new administration.
WTS, we have 4 years to defeat him.
